Getting a fixed landline home phone connection in Dubai

If you want to get connected to a fixed-line phone in Dubai you have only two options – Etisalat or Du, both of whom are largely state owned. There may be some restriction of choice dependent on the area you are based in.

Etisalat offers a choice of prepaid or postpaid landline options and give a free gift of a cordless phone to all new customers. Etisalat also offer free local calls, and a wide variety of other paid for add on services.

To sign up with Etisalat, just visit one of their Business and Service Centres with your passport and visa

Du, formerly known as Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), offers pay per second charging, flat rate national calling, free call forwarding and waiting, free caller line ID, free return missed call and free conference calling amongst other services.

To sign up with Du, as long as you are over 21, just pop into one of their Du shops with your original passport and tenancy agreement or proof of property ownership.

Both companies offer a variety of billing and payment options.
